I said one time that "you and me are sort of black swans", you know, we're so rare and there's not really reasoning for it. There's no therapy for songwriters. Songwriters go to therapy and the therapist says "yeah, you got me. I've never heard of that." We go in the rooms and we see things that aren't there and we balance that somehow in also being a normal person. Something I like to call a "Dear-God-make-me-crazy-enough-to-keep-on-dreaming,-normal-enough-to-sleep-once-in-a-while". She's not a product of a hype machine. Don't confuse a world of people loving one thing with hype. Sometimes that's just everybody agreeing that something is fabulous.
